Valle de Oro is a National Wildlife Refuge located in the South Valley of Albuquerque, NM. Several months were spent in this space listening to the soundscape and learning about the rewilding of the landscape. Our interaction with nature has become curated in various places — national parks, hiking trails, green houses, parks, schools, homes, etc. As you move through the same spaces you experience different landscapes, sounds, and iterations of place. An ever-changing soundscape is created through a programming language using a predetermined algorithm, recorded, and found sound. Participants experience a randomized acoustic environment as they walk through a seemingly familiar space.
